The base BMW 528i features a 3.0-liter inline-6 with 240 horsepower . The 535i gets you a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 that boasts 300 hp. An eight-speed automatic is optional and all-wheel drive should be a late-model-year introduction.

The technological advancements can best be seen under the hood, where turbocharging has yielded impressive gains in fuel economy. The new electric power steering has been greatly improved.
